Dr. Mermagya Dhakal, D.V.M.

 

Dr Dhakal has been practicing emergency veterinary medicine in San Antonio since 2014. He completed his clinical rotation at College of Veterinary medicine, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO in 2014. He is also an advanced degree holder in immunology (PhD) and public health (MPH). He has contributed to numerous scientific publications focusing on human and animal health. He loves all aspects of emergency veterinary medicine. He is a member of AVMA, TXVMA and VMAH.

When not working, he spends time with his wife, two sons and a dog named Lenny.

Dr. Perkins

Dr. Katherine Perkins, D.V.M.

Dr. Katherine Perkins is proud to serve the community at Angel of Mercy Animal Critical Care as a relief and emergency veterinarian. Originally from Boerne, Texas, she is passionate about caring for the pets and families of the Hill Country and surrounding areas.

Dr. Perkins graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2015. During her time at Texas A&M, she also earned dual undergraduate degrees in Animal Science and Poultry Science, building a strong foundation in both clinical medicine and animal health systems.

She has a background in emergency and critical care medicine, with particular interests in patient stabilization, complex internal medicine cases, and collaborative decision-making with clients. She is known for her calm presence during high-stress situations and her commitment to clear, compassionate communication.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Perkins enjoys staying active, traveling, and spending time with her corgis and mini aussie. She values building meaningful connections within the veterinary community and feels honored to work alongside the dedicated team at Angel of Mercy in providing exceptional care to their patients.
